Going on an enchanting Spanish wine tour

Of beer and spirits intake, it is said the Irish beats the rest of world hands down; of flirting and romance, the Italians are the masters; of written word, the English are the literati; of fashion, the French makes the rest of the world look drab. So, what of the Spaniards? Well, some say Gallantry while others say pride. However, I think refinement is heritage the Spanish civilization has gifted the world.

However, I think refinement is the heritage that the Spanish civilization gifted the world.

The epitome of the Spanish refinement is easily displayed in their love for the finer things in life such as wine. Below are a few of the places in Spain that have distinguished themselves by the brand of wine they make and the accessibility they give to the wine-loving tourists.

Herederos de Marqués de Riscal, Elciego

This vineyard is located in the larger La Rioja region on the foothills of Pyrenees. The region is close to the French-Spanish border and explains why the farmer who first started the vineyard learnt his trade from France. The winery boasts some of the best wines in the world. Among them are Baron Chirel 2006, 2007 Finca Torrea, Marqes De Riscal, Finca Montico, and Callera Vineyard 2012.

Rías Baixas, Galicia

This is another very popular wine tour destination in Spain. It boasts the Albariño wines. These wines are best sampled during the Albarino Wine Festival. Experts say that the wines here borders on being floral and the fruity. Amazingly, you will be offered some exotic seafood to wash down with your wine.

Penedès, Catalonia

This region is famous for its 2.8 million acres of vineyard. Guests here are treated to the best of the dry and white wine as well as white and bubbly wine. The region is a proud home to the exotic grape variety Xarel.lo. Amazingly, you can also get to see some of the marvels of Barcelona at Sagrada Familia, gorge on Guadi, cava botigas, and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

I have just illustrated how refined the Spaniards can be. It is up to you now to decide whether they are gallant...or if their better trait is refinement.
